Something I Want...

Ok. So these first 2 paragraphs are about me because everyone wants and needs different things in different stages of life, everyone has different styles, different things they care about, and different goals. This year I want to get my colors done. I want to know what colors actually look best on me and which colors either wash me out or over emphasize the wrong features on my face. I'm going through Created Colorful to do this, because she gives an overall idea of things to look for and shopping links I can use to find the clothes I want to wear. Created Colorful is linked below.

Something I Need...

This year I need to potty train my 2 year old. I'm so nervous, I don't know where to start. That's why I need someone to help me through this. Her teachers at preschool are super helpful, but I want to lay a good foundation at home. Luckily this year I'm buying Big Little Feelings Potty Training course. It has a money back guarantee, and looks like it could really get me on the right track.

Something to Wear...

Wear Truth, Share Truth is the tag line for Dear Mushka, a jewelry company based in Middle Tennessee. Dear Mushka sells jewelry, and apparel and each piece is designed around a specific verse from the Bible. I love wearing my jewelry from them and remembering the truth each piece represents. Most of the pieces are pretty neutral and go with most things I wear anyway.

Something to Read...

I love reading self help books. I don't know why, but I think they are fascinating, especially with all the research that goes into them. But every once in a while I like to get lost in an easy to read fiction book. That's where this recommendation comes in.

Tied to Her Affections written by Brittany Basham, takes place in the late 1800s in England. It has romance, mystery, and moves at a pace that keeps my attention. If you loved Downton Abbey you'll like this book. Although the nobility are the main characters, it shares some about the life of some of the closest servants in their household.

Something to Do...

One thing I've always loved getting are experiences. I love getting trips, or money to put toward a trip. I've loved going places with my family, and doing things with my 2 year-old daughter. One thing with her is that everything is new, she is a little bit shy so sometimes going to the same place multiple times reveals how much she really does enjoy trying new things. One thing I'm looking forward to this year is the Nashville Zoo. Harper loves animals, and the zoo has so many attractions. I can't wait to take her.

Something to Give Back...

Giving to your community is always a big thing at the end of the year. However, it can be difficult because you want to do it all, serving at a soup kitchen, donating toys and clothes to people who need it, etc. THere are so many opportunities around you, but how do you do it. You do one thing. Just pick one thing. One thing that fits into your budget, and your schedule. If you still need help choosing see if you can partner with a friend in something they are already doing. Below I've linked the Angel Tree through the Salvation Army, but I would encourage you to find something you enjoy, and can do every year.
